Questions

Does any audio or text leave my Mac?

No. The app has no network access at all, so it physically cannot upload anything. You can verify this in macOS: it is sandboxed without the network entitlement.

Is it HIPAA / GDPR compliant?

What do I need to run it?

How accurate is it?

It uses OpenAI's Whisper large-v3 model, run twice. Words the two passes disagree on are underlined so you can check them, and speech it could not transcribe is marked rather than silently dropped.

What file types work?

Audio and video: m4a, mp3, wav, mp4, mov and more. Drop in several at once and they are transcribed one after another.
